He was promoted to AM1 on 1st October 1916 and was transferred in to the Royal Air Force on its formation on 1st April 1918 as Private 1st Class
Group 1 and would prove to be his last stop before being sent to the Korean theatre

Three piece construction, silver with blue, white and red enamels, handpainted centrpiece, unmarked, 88. 7 mm x 91. 5 mm, vertical pinback, intact enamels, extremely fine.
